If this is a script for ESB, why is the line "I am your father" even in there? I guess it's not the shooting script?

Maybe because in the movie he also says "i am your father" ?! anyway i think it is the best script of the Star Wars Sage

Harrison Ford ad-libbed the line "I know" after Leia says she loves him. It was never in the script, nor was Vader's "I am your father" line. The original line was "Obi-Wan killed your father". Lucas did this to make sure the secret didn't get out before the movie opened.

Well, it does say undated version on it. I still love this movie.

Omkar (9 out of 10 )
It was a great movie!

Back when George Lucas still had at least a tenuous grasp on the slippery concept of entertainment, he made enormously entertaining rollicking blockbusters such as this. It tears a strip off every one of the Star Wars prequels, most of all Revenge of the Sith, which was meant to be its equivalent and wasn't anywhere near as dark.

Katelyn (10 out of 10 )
I thought this movie was the best story-wise and I always love to watch it.

poot (10 out of 10 )
I think this was the best Star Wars movie because it had the best story and the best acting and the most believable special effects. I think that Anakin and Obi-Wan's fight from episode three is totally put to shame by the fight in this movie, and also that Frank Oz's best perfomance as Yoda is the one in this movie.

Best Star Wars movie. Dark, mysterious and a super ending!

I like the idea that the main heroine and hero don't fall in love eventually. That they are related. I think that is cool!

Brilliant film, the fact that the trilogy started out like a typical action movie with the hero luke, the baddie vader, and the good looking princess and then for the movie to get such a turnaround with the revelation of them being related among others is genius.

This is my favourite of the Star Wars films. I think it has the best script, look, tone and direction. With its kinetic eventfulness and murky familial themes it's sort of a cross between Buck Rogers and Oedipus Rex. I wonder how much of the script was down to Lawrence Kasdan. I see similarities in terms of structure, pace and the use of sequence with that other magnificent adventure movie he's associated with: Raiders of The Lost Ark. If it's as much as I think it is, then Kasdan must stand right up there with James Cameron as one of the greatest modern action-movie scriptwriters.

Probably my favorite movie as a whole. I do have to disagree with "poot"s opinion on the obi-wan/anakin fight "being put to shame" though. The choreography of that fight was amazing and hands down more visually appeasing. It also happens to be one of my favorite scenes, 1 of the reasons being that I love ewan mcgregor as obi-wan. I think he did a great job. Although I would have to say the build-up suspense and drama in the ESB scene is much more brilliant: we all know what's going to happen at the end of the mustafar fight, but the cloud city fight ended in a total twist. I know I'm part of the minority but I don't mind the prequels (except most of ep I. I usually watch just the scenes with obi-wan, qui-gon and darth maul) but I'm easy to please.

@HabbaKee Well, perhaps they have to change things sometimes that are not in the script? God.

Hansolosson (10 out of 10 )
Greatest Star Wars movie PERIOD. Han Solo stole this movie in my opinion. Even though he was put "on ice" so to speak. And Luke and Vader's climatic battle is among the greatest duels in the saga. Looking forward to Episodes Vll Vlll and VIIII. Never thought i'd ever hear myself say that! Vll Vlll and VIIII! Yahhhhhhhhoooo. It will be like being a kid again.

Lucas is a creative genius. It's completely pathetic for wannabe dweebs who never accomplished anything to constantly put him down as if that knocks them Up a notch on the accomplishment scale. Just stop.

Love this film, amazing screenplay However. The original screenplay nor the shooting script had the line: VADER: No, I am your father. As stated in many interviews by Mark Hamill, himself, to keep the secrecy of one of the biggest twists in cinema hidden, the line in the screenplay that the costume Vader would perform was: VADER: No, Obi-Wan Killed your Father! So how this appeared in this screenplay I shall never know, that being said. Its a great film, an amazing sequel and the reason why cinema is so important and an amazing art.

Great movie. Loved watching with people who thing the sequels were good, as the lightsaber battles in this are 100 times better than Rey and Kylo's.
